Writing in the Christian Post, Michael Brown explains how video sharing site Vimeo recently disabled the account of an ex-gay ministry called Pure Passion, which had over 800 videos. A Vimeo spokesperson told the Pure Passion director, who himself left that lifestyle for Christ—that his videos weren’t OK, because they referred to homosexuality as “brokenness.” Vimeo also objected to his statement that “God can transform the life of anyone caught in homosexual confusion.”

When Foster pressed for a better reason, Vimeo replied, “To put it bluntly, we don’t believe that homosexuality requires a cure and we don’t allow videos on our platform that espouse this point of view.”

But if Christianity teaches anything, it’s that sin’s cure is Jesus. Is this basic Christian view no longer allowed on Vimeo?

After so many cheered when Christian bakers, florists, and photographers were put out of business for not sending messages they deemed inappropriate, why does Vimeo have the right to ban messages they deem inappropriate? I still haven’t heard a good answer to that one.
