Can a leader make an impact in culture by recognizing the image of God? Looking at the background of our 2020-2021 Wilberforce Award recipient, the answer is a resounding yes.
We recognize Pastor Bob Fu’s tireless advocacy for tens of millions of Chinese Christians who live under constant threat of persecution. After converting to Christianity post-college, Doctor Fu became active in the Chinese house church movement. He and his wife, Heidi, were jailed for “illegal evangelism.” After their release, they fled to Hong Kong and then to the U.S. In 2002, Fu founded ChinaAid to support the persecuted church in China.
Bob Fu is a champion for the image of God, tirelessly engaged in defending the right to life of so many of our brothers and sisters in China. His simple example of steady faithfulness in the Gospel is what the Wilberforce Award was created for, and we are honored to recognize him this year.
