Three years ago, 110 Nigerian schoolgirls were kidnapped by Boko Haram terrorists. All but one have been returned. The girl who remains in captivity was the only Christian, 14-year-old Leah Sharibu.
Leah is one of thousands of Nigerian Christians who, in recent years, have been kidnapped, raped, tortured, or murdered by Boko Haram and Militant Fulanis. Humanitarian groups across the globe, like the International Committee on Nigeria, are calling the persecution what it is: genocide.
Given the Nigerian government’s indifference—if not complicity–the best chance for relief is Christians and others who will organize, agitate and, most of all, pray.
Beginning next week, the LEAH Foundation, named in honor of Leah Sharibu, is launching a 7-day online prayer campaign to draw international attention to the plight of Nigerian Christians. The campaign will run from February 13th to 19th.. Come to BreakPoint.org, and I will link you to the campaign’s website.
