Remembering Jim Elliot and His Companions
Plus: The President, Iran, & the Media; the Golden Globes
01/10/20
John Stonestreet Shane Morris
John Stonestreet and Shane Morris step away from the craziness swirling around the world to mark the anniversary of the deaths of missionary Jim Elliot and his companions at the hands of the Auca Indians, whom they were seeking to evangelize. What an eternal perspective these men had, embodied in the famous quote by Elliot: “He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose.”
John and Shane then discuss the Iranian response to the killing of its top general, President Trump’s subsequent response, and the media’s predictable response.
They wrap up this week’s show discussing the Golden Globe Awards: Ricky Gervais’s skewering of Hollywood elites and Michelle Williams’s bizarre yet much-acclaimed thankfulness for abortion. Do women truly need the ability to kill their children to succeed in life? Or is this truly one of the great lies of the Sexual Revolution?
